City Council officially opens Pronghorn Park and Disc Golf Course

August 4, 2023 at 11:00 am

If you like to play disc golf, get ready to tee off at a new 18-hole course in Castle Pines.

Together, the City of Castle Pines City Council and Douglas County Board of County Commissioners officially opened Pronghorn Park and Disc Golf Course on Thursday, Aug. 3. The park is located near Hess Road and Cross Canyon Trail in Castle Pines.

“I’m thrilled to officially open Pronghorn Park and Disc Golf Course as the newest park amenity in Castle Pines,” said Castle Pines Mayor Tracy Engerman. “The course will be a great attraction for both the city and the rest of Douglas County.”

The project was completed as a partnership between the City of Castle Pines and Douglas County. Douglas County contributed $300,000 in funding toward the construction of the park and its amenities.

“We do our best work when we work together, and, today, that includes Douglas County voters,” said Commissioner George Teal. “Funding for the county’s portion of this new park and disc golf course came from the voter-approved Parks and Open Space Sales Tax. We’re so grateful for this funding and for partnerships with our neighboring communities, like the City of Castle Pines.”

The park features an 18-hole disc golf course, walking and biking trails, a sheltered picnic area, and sweeping views of Castle Pines and the Rueter-Hess Reservoir. The park is located at 7707 Disc Park Street in Castle Pines and is open from dawn to dusk. No reservations are required to play disc golf.
