Phase One of the Monarch Boulevard reconstruction project scheduled to be completed on July 15

Local traffic access will open on Monarch Boulevard from Castle Pines Parkway to the intersection of Stonedale Drive/Briar Cliff Drive beginning the afternoon of Monday, July 15. This will mark the completion of Phase One of the Monarch Boulevard reconstruction project. Through traffic will continue to use the Buffalo Trail detour.

Work will also begin on Phase Two of the project on Monday, July 15, which extends from Stondale Drive/Briar Cliff Drive to Glen Oaks Avenue. During Phase Two, Monarch Boulevard will be closed from Stonedale Drive/Briar Cliff Drive to Glen Oaks Avenue. Phase Two of the project remains on schedule and is expected to be completed this fall.

Detour Information

  • Through traffic on Monarch Boulevard will continue to use the Buffalo Trail detour.
  • Neighborhoods with access from Stonedale Drive: During the closure, access will be available via Stonemont Drive.
  • Neighborhoods with access from Briar Cliff Drive: During the closure, access will be available via Briar Dale Drive.

Crews will finish final paving operations and road striping over the next several days. Please continue to follow posted detours and traffic signage in the construction area to help maintain a safe environment for construction workers and other drivers.
